Highland Energy powers the businesses and communities that keep our region moving.

In an industry defined by volatility and scale, we operate with steadiness, accountability, and company-wide commitment. We don't just deliver fuel, we deliver reliability that families, fleets, and businesses can trust.

Because when you're on the move, we know that every mile matters.

Our Heart

Most energy companies are built for scale. Highland was built for responsibility. When your name has been on the line for generations, this work stops being transactional. It becomes personal. We show up differently. We plan long-term. We carry that responsibility because you expect us to be here tomorrow. From the critical decisions in a conference room to the drivers moving fuel before sunrise to the cashiers serving the last customer of the day, every job is important.

Our customers may never know the story behind the fuel pump, but they feel the steadiness of it. When we do our job well, operations move without friction, promises are kept without fanfare, and people can focus on their lives without worrying about what might break. It's ths kind of steadiness that builds trust over time. It's the kind of accountability that only exists when a company treats energy not as a commodity but as the momentum that moves their community forward.

Who are we?

Founded in 1936 by E.M. Adcox as an Esso consignee, Highland was built on a simple commitment to service and community. That foundation carried forward as the company transitioned to Sinclair in 1941 and grew into a trusted, family-owned fuel business rooted in Middle Tennessee.

Under the leadership of J.M. Adcox, Highland became a wholly owned jobbership in 1967 and later a Texaco jobber. After J.M.’s sudden passing in 1974, David and Connie Adcox led the company with vision and determination for decades of growth, with David stepping into the role of Chairman of the Board in 2020.

Today, Highland proudly operates under fourth-generation leadership with CEO Seth Blanks, who joined the company in 2007. As the company reaches 90 years of service, it now carries the name Highland Energy—a reflection of both its legacy and its future-focused mission to keep people moving for generations to come.
